Mihai is one of the four founders of Candela and serves as the Vice President of the Foundation's Management Board.

Mihai Suster graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw. He holds a Master's degree in Physics and a Bachelor's degree in Nanostructure Engineering.

He spent four years pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Warsaw Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences.

He was awarded scholarships under projects funded by the Foundation for Polish Science (NLPQT POIR), the National Science Centre (SHENG), the National Centre for Research and Development (EXODIAGNOS), and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Best of the Best 4.0).

He has published the results of his research in four scientific papers and has presented his work at prestigious international conferences, delivering six presentations and presenting four scientific posters.

One of his most significant achievements was coordinating a team of more than 40 people responsible for the 3D printing initiative that produced face shields for healthcare workers during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. As a result of this initiative, the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw donated 15,000 face shields free of charge to more than 200 medical institutions across Poland.
